Overview

The Charity Challenge helps foster community in the workplace and empowers participants to give back through their actions and by earning dollars for charitable causes through healthy behaviors!

During this four- to six-week challenge, participants are provided an opportunity to support causes of their choice, or that of the organization, while learning about different ways to engage in charitable giving and how it benefits health and well-being. Wellable Points are earned by tracking physical activity and completing Charitable Acts over the course of the event.

Recommended Reward Structure

In an individual-based challenge, for each Charitable Act a participant engages in, they will be entered into a raffle to win one of five rewards. Grand prizes will also be awarded at the end of the challenge to three participants using a Wellable Points-based raffle where each Wellable Point earned equals one entry into the raffle. Looking for reward ideas? Wellable can distribute GlobalGiving gift cards, allowing participants to donate to a charity of their choice!

The raffle structure helps stretch a rewards budget for maximum impact by encouraging participation throughout the challenge, as the odds of winning a prize increases with the more Wellable Points earned. The total number of prizes awarded can be increased or decreased based on the number of participants competing and the challenge rewards budget.

They will then be encouraged to engage in Charitable Acts throughout the challenge. Each day of the challenge, participants can earn Wellable Points after logging the completion of a Charitable Act.

There is no limit to the number of participants that can be part of a team, so teams can be any size. Wellable recommends creating teams of between four and eight members to ensure the benefits of being part of a team are achieved while maintaining accountability.

Teams are ranked by the average number of Wellable Points for all members of a team. This means that teammates with zero Wellable Points during a challenge will lower the score of the entire team, which is why encouraging your teammates to stay active throughout the challenge is so important.
